This Park has it All!
This 333 acre park was restored to its natural habitat and blends three distinctive facets: recreation, education, and conservation. The park preserves an ecologically rich wetland and saltwater lake. Winding between the ponds is a paved 2 mile hike/bike trail. Enjoy fishing on the Corpus Christi Bay side and kayaking, canoeing, swimming and sailing the southern part of the lake.

The lakes, ponds and marsh lands in Portland, provide feeding grounds for many species of resident birds. Migratory birds spotted here include the endangered Piping Plover, Wilson Plover, American Avocet, Black-Necked Stilt and Sandpipers.

More Birding
This botanically rich protected area is a hot spot for birder looking for warbler, vireos, orioles, and other song birds during migration. Dripping water near a covered viewing area entices birds to show themselves. Many species inhabit the native brush and trees along the creek year-round. This is #74 on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail.

Another park that has it all
This premier fishing pier reaches out into Corpus Christi bay, and is known to produce record Black Drum. The park includes a variety of habitats for shoreline birds. Excellent photo opportunities abound, and site # 73 on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail is the Indian Point Wetlands. Kite Surfer's Paradise
A kite surfer’s haven, this beautiful and well maintained park sits on a bluff overlooking, Corpus Christi Bay. The coastal wind and chop make launching platforms for extreme kite surfing. Considered by many as one of the best places on the coastal bend for kite surfing. This 10 acre wildlife preserve offers visitors a ¼ mile hake/bike trail, two observation decks, a narrow sand beach, a children’s area, two covered patios for watching the sun set and parking.

The City of Portland Aquatic Center is open year round. It offers a 25 meter competition pool, diving area, a zero to four foot recreation pool with several age appropriate water toys.

Skate-boarding Heaven
Our 13,524 square foot facility draws skate-boarding fans from near and far. A 6 foot vertical ramp, 3, 4, and 5 foot half bowls, a double spine ramp, roll in ledge, a fun box and a grind pad are all part of this great facility. The bowl is available for party rentals. 361.777.3301
